The philosophy of UNO

One person.
A life with many dimensions.

Your history, biology, relationships, responsibilities, private experience, and capacity for change.

One person can contain many lives.

The person before an experience. The person who adapted to survive it. The professional others depend on. The private self who carries the cost. The child becoming someone. The adult reconsidering who they have become.

UNO holds those dimensions within the same person. Psychiatric care begins by understanding how they relate.

You know

Lived experience is knowledge.

You know what you carry, what you have tried, and what it takes to get through your day. I bring psychiatric assessment, developmental perspective, and an understanding of how trauma can affect attention, mood, sleep, behavior, and relationships. Those perspectives give treatment its direction.

You, too

The person who cares deserves care.

Some lives are organized around being available to everyone else. First responders, veterans, healthcare workers, and military families. Partners carrying the household through deployments. Children growing up within uncertainty. A person can be highly capable while carrying considerable distress.

One

The whole person stays in view.

A uniform, a professional role, and a composed appearance reveal only part of the picture. Assessment considers physical health, development, trauma, sleep, attention, mood, substance use, family dynamics, and personal goals. Symptoms belong within a life.

Understanding becomes a treatment plan.

Psychiatric assessment clarifies the picture. Medication management addresses appropriate symptom targets through thoughtful prescribing and ongoing review. Psychotherapy explores patterns, relationships, and responses. EMDR offers a structured approach to processing traumatic experiences, guided by assessment, preparation, and clinical suitability.

The purpose is greater freedom in how a person lives: more understanding of themselves, more choice in their responses, and more room for who they are becoming.
